What's the Journey? This blog is intended to be a resource for people of all ages that are struggling with anxiety and panic disorders. First and foremost, I'm not a doctor. In fact, I'm an attorney. That having been said, this is not a medical blog and should not be relied upon for medical advice (obligatory legal disclaimer).
The purpose of this blog is simple: I suffer from anxiety and panic disorder. A year ago I decided to make drastic changes in my life to no longer just "deal" with anxiety. I decided to make changes that helped me take control of my anxiety and avoid panic. This blog is intended to discuss what changes helped me, so that I can hopefully help others through their own individual journeys. This blog is intended to be an open forum for tips and advice on how to manage anxiety and panic. I want to use this blog to give and get advice - I want to hear from you because my journey is nowhere close to being done! Feel free to share and comment so that we can collectively work together to start feeling better. |
Helpful (FREE) Resources for AnxietyWe know they're out there, but we rarely use FREE resources that could help us with our anxiety and panic problems. Here are just a few that I found helpful throughout my journey:
1. Anxiety and Depression Association of America (http://www.adaa.org/) - this is a great online tool to help you take the next step and control your anxiety. This website will help you understand the signs and symptoms of anxiety, can put you in touch with a therapist or support group, and help you find the treatment that is right for you! 2. AnxietyBC (http://www.anxietybc.com/) - another great resource for learning about anxiety and creating individual treatment options. This website offers a great program called "Mindshift," which helps you "learn how to relax, develop more helpful ways of thinking, and identify active steps that will help you take charge of your anxiety." |
